Cincinnati band Pomegranates create artful pop songs, channeling the guitar tone of Tom Verlaine and the vocal delivery of Thurston Moore. With choice programming and joyous keyboards their aptly titled sophomore album Everybody, Come Outside! is invitation to get lost in the smart melodies while trying to figure out the lyrics. Not that many bands use the tesseract (geometrical figure) to describe a relationship... or end their album with a 13 minutes sprawling drone piece (I Feel Like I'm A Million Years Old). This band isn't short on musical ideas - they may even have tried to cram too many of them on a single disc.
