New Tales To Tell: A Tribute to Love and Rockets

New Tales To Tell: A Tribute to Love and Rockets

Love and Rockets are an influential underground gothic rock band that sprang to life after the demise of Bauhaus. They have influenced a shit load of alternative acts and some of them pay homage to their heroes on New Tales To Tell - A Tribute to Love and Rockets.

While some of the acts stay close to the original, like Black Francis with his slightly Pixiefied version of All In My Mind, things get more interesting when the songs are used as a musical stepping stone, like BalqK Audio with a dance assault on No New Tale To Tell, the mayhem of A Place To Bury Strangers for The Light, and glam meeting Siouxsie in Sweethead's Life in Laralay . The best bit comes a long when the Flaming Lips wrap Kundalini Express into an updated Sixties sci-fi theme.
