Here Comes The Flood: The Saturday Morning Canasta Club: King Henry's Tears

The Saturday Morning Canasta Club keep churning out albums. Hot on the heels of their third album If I Were a Little Birdie their fourth full-length King Henry's Tears is yet another grab bag of songs performed by the established players by the house band of Abubilla Music, as well as some fresh talents in the vocal department.

Sounding a bit rougher around the edges than their previous albums, the vocals are more prominent in the mix. That is big plus when they play >I've Just Seen a Face, an overlooked gem from The Beatles'Help album, bu tit doesn't work out so well for Floating, when the singers stray off pitch, coming off as a 'roll tape while sitting around the campfire' demo.

Price cuts are These Strings, with humming backing vocals and the off-kilter title track. To show their heart are still in the right place with, the album's closer is a Global Remix of 71 Hours to Monday, with a long list of of Brazilian and African musicians helping out.
