John Cale: "Days of Steam" on Lady Bird soundtrack

John Cale's Days of Steam, from his album The Academy In Peril, is included in the soundtrack for the new movie Lady Bird. It is the second time that this track was used in a movie, after being featured in Paul Morrissey's Heat in 1972, as part of a trade for the cover by Andy Warhol.

The soundtrack also features songs by Alanis Morissette, Haim, The Monkees, Reel Big Fish, Love, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Ani Difranco. The album is released on Lakeshore Records.

  1. Unless you are in this type of relationship, you might not appreciate this movie. I have a daughter and we are both strong willed people. We had a turbulent time during her later times in high school, but we came out of it just fine. We have a strong friendship and mother daughter relationship now. I loved this movie. Quite poignant. The acting was great. A very realistic coming of age movie.
