Not many bands get a personal invite to record at Trey Anastasio's barn in Green Mountains near Burlington, Vermont. The Shift, a self-proclaimed transcendental rock quartet from Richmond Hill, NY, are putting the finishing touches on their debut album.
The single True North is a pastoral track centered around the twin guitars and vocals, with bass and drums sneaking in and turning it up when the tempo increases. Nothing wrong with the separation and the warm acoustics in the studio are used to good effect.
