Mr. Bukit are quick to release their debut single Kings b/w Why Am I Always Drunk. The Dutch indie band was founded earlier this year by Bram Schabbink and Joren Heuvels. After recruiting a tight rhythm section they laid down the tracks at the Massive Studio, Bandung, Indonesia. No signs of tempoe doeloe, however. They are into power chords with a nervous back beat, naming The Vaccines, Bloc Party and The Libertines as their influences. Add a soft spot for Cure-inspired bass lines and you have a recipe for garage slacker rock with just a hint of psychedelica.
