Band & The Beat is a new dream pop synth side-project by Tracy Shedd and James Tritten. The husband & wife duo as been toying with the idea to become a proper band for quite some time and they got the ball rolling at a gig at Cat's Cradle in their Carrboro, NC. The audience loved it, they cut some demos and now it's time for a proper tour.
They use analog synths, a sequencer, and a real analog drum machine. No laptop, no samples, which means that there is plenty of room for a bit of spontaneity, something that is pretty rare in this genre.
