Canadian country folk artist Grant Davidson - who goes by the stage name Slow Leaves - sounds like he has been preserved somewhere safe since the early Seventies. His latest album Enough About Me is filled with soft-spoken yet sturdy songs. His voice and guitar take center stages, singing about being lost and trying to get a grip on life.
He is the kind of singer who can tell a spellbinding tale about himself, without boring his audience but making them part of the experience. He tackles universal subjects and makes them personal (or vice versa). With the aid of Rusty Matyas (Imaginary Cities, Sheepdogs), Julie Penner (Broken Social Scene, Do Make Say Think) and Jason Tait (Bahamas, Weakerthans) he provides the listener with a ringside seat for his insecurities and fears.
